Editors input: During investigation we have found one regional university in pacific which received hundreds of students as foreign students from Solomon Islands Government and one top government minister of then government had vested interests, gains by sending students to regional university. Kings University was the first University of Solomon Islands. The then Prime Minister and certain sections of the Government were very supportive to Kings University. All government funded students around 600 to 800 would have studied at Kings University. This would have resulted millions of dollar losses for regional University and no benefit for one government minister and his groups. This made them create a scenario where misinformation about Kings University to spoil its name. In fact Minister for Health and Medical Services tried his very best to clear this misinformation through his letter to Office of Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister for Education and all other government departments in including World Health Organization (WHO) and International Medical Education Directory (IMED). One Australian news reported Kings University as fake whereas Kings University was lawfully established listed in International Medical Education Directory and without doing any due diligence they published news thereby confusing, spreading misinformation in all. Obviously aussie universities would have also lost businesses. On the contrary news about hundreds of private institutions which has cheated foreign students in Australia are never brought in front as foreign students are biggest export income for Australia, in billion dollars.

King's University was established by the approval of Solomon Islands government cabinet, approved by Foreign Investment Board, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Commerce, Register of Companies and several other local, national and international bodies. 17 MARCH 2004 HONIARA (Pacnews) --- The Solomon Islands Foreign Investment Board has approved an investment proposal to establish a university in the country, Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports.
Secretary of the Investment Board Derick Aihari said the investment application was received in March last year from Kings University Consortium, Gorky Sadan, India, of which Doctor Annindya Charkravorty is the chairman and chief executive officer.
On the request of the Foreign Investment Board, additional information and development plans of the proposed university were submitted to the board last November, and approval granted in December 2003.
Mr Aihari said the approval was based on normal criteria for approving investment applications.
He said Kings University will offer university level courses in medicine, management and accounting. It will be operating initially from Gizo Hotel in the Western Provincial capital, Gizo....
